Some of these events are specifically Mother's Day events, but others are fun events for the entire family.
*** Heads-up warning to all. It's commencement season for the Lynchburg area colleges and universities. In addition, it's prom season for the local high schools. Restaurants will be busy and traffic will be heavy. Plan accordingly and allow extra time and patience.
Liberty University is holding commencement and degree presentation ceremonies on Mother's Day weekend. The commencement ceremony is Friday, May 12 at 7 PM with Degree Presentation Ceremonies taking place Thursday through Saturday, May 11-13. Sweet Briar College is also holding commencement ceremonies on Mother's Day weekend. The commencement ceremony is Saturday, May 13 at 10 AM.
University of Lynchburg will hold commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 18 and Friday, May 19. Randolph College will hold commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 21.
E.C. Glass High School is holding prom on Saturday, May 13. There may be other high schools also holding prom this month and all local high schools will hold graduation ceremonies in late May or early June. ***
